With local restaurants we are fortunate to have the Freycinet Marine Farm right on our doorstep. Here you can eat locally grown fresh oysters and mussels at the farmgate restaurant, or buy a range of seafood to cook in your Studio or Lodge, or on the barbecue.. It is generally open 9am to 5pm.

In Coles Bay there is the lively Tombolo Freycinet cafe which serves Tasmanian roasted coffee, wood fired pizzas, fresh seafood, local wine, beer & cider. There is also the Iluka Tavern for counter meals, and lunch and snacks to be had at Freycinet Lodge’s Richardson’s Bistro.

For a special occasion, and only a few kilometers from us, is waterfront fine dining at the Edge Restaurant. Another option a little further afield is The Bay Restaurant at Freycinet Lodge. Bookings for both of these options are strongly advised. (Saffire Freycinet is not open to non residents).

Other local coffee spots we recommend are the Blue Edge Bakery or Pasinis in Bicheno, Artifakt in Swansea, and Mohr and Smith in St Helens.

Wherever you decide to eat, please be advised that local restaurants and cafes tend to stop serving by 8pm.
