The East Coast of Tasmania offers some beautiful, if a little chilly swimming beaches, our personal favourites being Binalong Bay and Redbill Beach in Bicheno. We also enjoy the Swan River Estuary at nearby Swanwick where the water can be quite a bit warmer, and if you're doing the Wineglass Bay loop walk, then a dip at Hazards Beach can be very refreshing, and often calmer than Wineglass Bay itself.

None of the local beaches have lifeguard facilities, so swimmers should exercise caution as there can be rips.
